1. How did you get into photography?
Quite some years ago when I was back in college I did half an A-Level course in photography but it just didn’t sit too well with me, I enjoyed it for what it was but if anything it put me off photography somewhat. I didn’t touch a camera after I left college, not for quite a long time anyway. I was bored mostly and I thought I might buy a little cheapo camera and have a play about. For the most time I was just taking photos of random rubbish around the house, but eventually my interest grew and a year later I upgraded and had my first shoot with a model and I haven’t stopped since.
2. Who is your favourite Photographer?
I am not sure I have a single favourite photographer, there are so many people with unbelievable talent pretty much everywhere you look. It might sound a bit bad but as far as really famous photographers go I don’t really have a favourite, when I was getting into photography finding out about other photographers just didn’t cross my mind. A couple of people who’s photography I really admire now however are Katie Eleanor (http://www.katieeleanor.com/) and Kitty Gallannaugh (http://kittygallannaugh.com/).
3. How would you describe your style?
People have said to me that some of my portraits have a soft dream like quality to them, if that is true then I couldn’t be happier. I wouldn’t know how to describe it myself though, I suppose it would be different to different people.
4. What message do you want to convey in your photographs?
If it is in my portraiture I would hope to bright out some sort of emotion or tell a story, and if it is with some of my perhaps more conceptual still life photography then I would hope to just spark the imagination a little!
5. Do you have any projects that you would like to work on?
I would love to travel abroad and shoot with models in different places! I would like to set up some shoots in Paris too but I am not sure how likely that is to happen hehe. One of my main goals this year is to feature in a printed publication.
